A brief history

Balangara Films was founded in 2010 by Mark Pearce and Nick Hayward as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). In 2023, the branding and name-sake transitioned to a Family Partnership between Mark Pearce and Louisa Dent Pearce.

The filmmaker

Mark is a multi-award winning Australian filmmaker who produces nature documentaries and other earthly media projects. He’s a writer, director, producer, editor with a background in film, television, marketing/events and commercial advertising industries.

His core passions are focused on the continuation of culture, animal rights, human rights, health, sovereignty, and the universal lore that we all once followed.

When Mark's not making films he's either working on the farm, or enjoying the birdsong which echoes through the koala forest of his hinterland home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
