Balangara Films

Creating stories for change

Established in 2010

Vision

With our passion for the natural world, we aim to showcase humanity’s vital connection with the planet and each other to inspire others to reassess the status quo consciousness.

Our work

Balangara Films produces social impact and advocacy stories for the screen. We have helped people think, feel and act differently towards Indigenous cultures, the health & well-being of humanity, the environment, eco-tourism, animal rights, as well as human rights, social & political justice and law reform.

A brief history

Balangara Films was founded in 2010 by Mark Pearce and Nick Hayward as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). In 2023, the branding and name-sake transitioned to a Family Partnership between Mark Pearce and Louisa Dent Pearce.

The filmmaker

Mark Pearce

Mark is a multi-award winning Australian filmmaker who produces nature documentaries and other earthly media projects. He’s a writer, director, producer, editor with a background in film, television, marketing/events and commercial advertising industries.

His core passions are focused on the continuation of culture, animal rights, human rights, health, sovereignty, and the natural laws that we all once followed.

When Mark's not making films he's either working on the farm or listening to the birdsong that echoes through the koala forest of his hinterland home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
